TROUBLESHOOTING
Why Your Riding Mower Won’t Start After Winter
A mower that ran properly last season may still have trouble starting after several months in storage.

1. Old or Stale Fuel
Fuel left in the tank during winter can deteriorate and cause starting or fuel delivery problems.

2. Weak or Discharged Battery
Cold weather and months without use can leave a riding mower battery too weak to crank the engine.

3. Dirty or Worn Spark Plug
A fouled, loose or damaged spark plug may prevent the engine from producing a reliable spark.

4. Restricted Air or Fuel Flow
A dirty air filter, clogged fuel filter or carburetor buildup can keep the engine from starting properly.

Simple Checks Before Requesting Service
Check the fuel, battery connections, parking brake, blade control and your owner’s manual before attempting repairs.

Always turn the mower off, remove the key and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions.
